Here’s the personal scoop

At sixty, I am a single woman with two lovely daughters, a grandson that I see weekly, a life that I love, and a coaching career that is truly in alignment with my life purpose. I believe I have accumulated wisdom over my life span, wisdom which allows me to inspire others and find contentment in the every day aspects of living.

A recommendation from a friend to give you a better understanding of who I am.

Marty is a gutsy, energetic woman who lives life boldly. She does not hide behind excuses. She is incredibly loving and vibrant with a strong spirit and a thirst for constantly learning more about herself and her world.

My Professional Qualifications

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Life Coach and have completed eighty-eight hours of Relationship Systems Coaching. I’m also a member of the International Coaching Federation and have worked as a life and relationship coach for the past eight years. I’ve coached over sixty women, helping them to create more rewarding lives.

I hold dual Masters degrees in Education and Counseling, and have worked for the last thirty years in a variety of positions that support others in reaching their full potential. These positions include: a school guidance counselor, a Lecture at the University of Vermont, an instructor at the Community College of Vermont, a group facilitator, and a personal counselor for a number of different clients.

How Coaching Became My Passion

Several years before I started my coaching practice, I hamarty2d a life changing experience. While I was at Kripalu, a healing and yoga center, I participated in a workshop led by a powerful and wise woman, who eventually became my coach. At the time I was going through a divorce, wondering what was next, feeling uncertain and off course. She helped me change my life and my sense of what was possible.

It was her inspiration that led me to becoming a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach at the Coaches Training Institute. The year long program was intense and helped me to transform myself and my skills. I also have recently completed training as an Organizational and Relationship Systems Coach, and enjoy working with couples who are yearning to bring more aliveness to their relationships.

I have always worked with people to help them fully realize their potential. Over the past forty years I have taught at both the college and middle school level, worked as guidance and personal counselor, and facilitated workshops in a variety of arenas.I hold dual Masters Degrees in both Education and Counseling.

Since becoming a coach eight years ago, I have coached over sixty clients, from all walks of life, inspiring them to transform their lives; knowing that they had everything they needed to step boldly into their futures.

I am passionate about working with women at midlife; I understand the many challenges they face. I have successfully navigated many life transitions including divorce, single parenting, dealing with a challenging illness, making several career changes, and finally becoming a solo-entrepreneur.

My Personal Journey

My journey through transition has taught me the importance of developing a sense of my core self, facing and overcoming obstacles, believing that change provides opportunity, and finding the courage to do the things I thought I could not do. Now, I want to inspire others to move through midlife transitions with wisdom and spirit.

You may wonder about the picture of the lotus pond. I love the Buddhist phrase, “Out of muddy waters blooms the pure white blossoms of the lotus.” The fuel for transformation lies in the “stuff” of our everyday life.

My meditation and yoga practices have helped me learn to be with what is, as opposed to trying to change things to meet my expectations. My oldest daughter is a revered yoga teacher and I have the privilege of being her student. Learning to be less attached to outcomes, and to be more present in each moment is a gift that allows me to truly experience joy and fulfillment.

I live in Burlington, Vermont, rated one of the most livable cities in the country. I wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else. My favorite beach on Lake Champlain is a five minute walk from my house, and I swim daily, weather permitting.

The natural beauty of the area, with stunning sunsets over the lake, and the deep green of the Vermont countryside, helps me stay connected to my soul. Here I am rooted to my community, my family, and the landscape.
